Born in 1922 Doris Day was a movie and singing icon of the 1950s.
The singer turned actress starred in films such as Calamity Jane and Pillow Talk and had a hit in 1956 with Que Sera, Sera (Whatever Will Be, Will Be).
Her songs are as popular today as when she first recorded them.
She was an animal rights activist and for the last 30 years had lived on an animal sanctuary that she created in California.
The show 'Sentimenal Journey' is a musical tribute to Doris and traces her life through song. It is produced by Green Ginger Productions and will be staged by three former students of Park Street and Northern Theatre Company.
