Spotlight Drama presents one of Shakespeare's most accessible plays, a timeless farce with a bit of magic thrown in for good measure as a feuding fairy King and Queen of the forest cross paths with four runaway lovers and a troupe of actors trying to rehearse a play. As their dispute grows, the magical royal couple meddle with mortal lives leading to love triangles, mistaken identities and transformations... with hilarious, but dark consequences. Shakespeare's litmus test for success was the response of his theatre-goers, and it is oft-quoted how he'd have been aghast at his plays being studied in depth. With this in mind for some time, director Mel Jones has had his own "Dream" to present this play on the Spotlight stage, so a talented cast of over 20 Spotlight theatre actors has now come together to present a "not to be missed" production.
