Workshop Description
Join artist Wendy Tate in a workshop that offers traditional and experimental approaches to mono printing for artists and beginners using plates, oil based inks and an etching press.

Monoprinting using the reduction technique illustrated and/or nature monoprinting using leaves, flowers, textured materials to print their own individual work of art. Participants are also invited to work on deli paper, transferring marks and layering onto a separate piece of paper.

It is envisaged that participants will make a few hand made prints to take away at the end of the session.

About The Artist
Wendy Tate is a painter, print maker, ceramicist and photographer.

Having graduated from Hull University with a BA in Fine Art (2000) and an MA in Painting (2002). Since then she has taught on the BA Fine Art Course for the Grimsby Institute for Further and Higher Education for 13 years, during which she has also run her own workshops, demonstrations and talks.

She now runs, in partnership with artist Rob Moore, her own printmaking and painting studios in Scarborough, North Yorkshire.

Wendy has been a practicing artist for the past 20 years specialising in a poetic depiction of the landscape around her in a variety of media including painting, drawing, printmaking, video and photography.

She enjoys nothing more than walking in the countryside, with her camera and sketchbook, capturing its secrets and then proceeding to explore them through a variety of approaches.


What you need to bring with you
  • An overall, shirt or apron (plastic ones can be provided)
  • An image if preferred however, inspirational material will be provided
  • Leaves and foliage if desired (basic ones will be provided)

Everything else is included within the workshop

Workshop runs from 10am - 12.30pm or 1.30pm - 3pm

Please come to the foyer area of the Spa 15 minutes before the workshop start time to help the ArtWaves team direct you where you need to be.
