Made in Dagenham

Performed by Spotlight Theatre's youth group Northern Lights Theatre

In June 1968, when the women workers at the Dagenham Ford factory go on strike over proposals to downgrade their skill set and subsequently their pay, Rita, an ordinary working class mum of two, and machinist for the plant, almost by accident finds herself leading the fight for justice.

In a stand of unity the Ford machinists in Liverpool also join the cause, so US executives of Ford try to fight the girls by 'laying off' the men and causing hardship for many families.

Can the girls win their fight for equal pay and justice in the workplace?

Performed by Spotlight Theatre's youth group, Northern Lights Theatre, this heart-warming, uplifting and inspiring musical includes some classical British banter, and a lot of comedy, uplifting musical numbers and some moments of sobriety.

Please note: There is strong 'factory language' used in this production.
