Description
Sewerby Hall and Gardens Day Pass
Gates open at 9.30am daily
The zoo will reopen on Friday, 21 October after being closed throughout September following local cases of avian flu. That protection zone is now being lifted, but a nationwide surveillance zone remains in force, meaning that visitors will find some changes in the zoo.
The new walkthrough aviary will still be unable to operate as a walkthrough facility, although visitors can still see the large and varied collection of ducks it contains. There will be disinfectant mats at the entrances and exits to the zoo, and plenty of hand sanitizer will be available, as well as hand wash facilities. Visitors are also asked to avoid any contact with the animals and birds, and to keep a distance from the front of each enclosure.
It will not be possible to resume the regular programme of animal encounters at this stage, but the situation will be monitored over coming weeks.
Day passes can be shown on a mobile device or printed out to gain entry to Sewerby Hall and Gardens.
Admission is from 9.30am. You are welcome to arrive anytime during the day.
Uniquely situated in a dramatic clifftop position with spectacular views over Bridlington and set in 50 acres of early 19th Century parkland, Sewerby Hall and Gardens offers something for everyone, from the magnificent award winning gardens to the deep rooted heritage of the house.
Take a trip back to the early 1900s to see how the house would have looked. The Grade One listed House has been restored to its former glory as the family home of the Lloyd Greames, circa 1910, and has been furnished with exquisite items from the national collection at the Victoria and Albert Museum as well as items from significant local collections.
The zoo is the place to keep the children amused, home to an exciting range of over 60 mammals and birds, firm favourites include the Eclectus Parrot, who is always keen to chat, the Humboldt Penguins splashing and swimming and the cute Raccoon Dogs.
The gardens are a great place to visit whatever the season; with the Walled, Pleasure and Rose Gardens taking centre stage throughout the summer months. Why not take a stroll along the Woodland Walk and discover the hidden delights nature has to offer? Our children's adventure playground has an exciting nautical theme which will appeal to children of all ages.
